Actually Metzler's operated a full line, five floor department store in downtown Uniontown PA well into the late 1980s. They also had a large building that sold furniture and appliances near the main store; this location was closed years before the main store. Metzler's opened a branch store at the new Laurel Mall in Connellsville PA in the early 1970s. The mall store was a stand alone location after downtown was closed; it remained in operation until the early 1990s.
